<p>[PROBLEMS] To provide a paper sheet coating apparatus that not only solves the problem of thickly adhering of paint liquid onto an anterior edge portion of paper sheet but also allows forming of a beautiful coating film without roll mark and easily determining of the coating amount. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The paper sheet coating apparatus includes at least a coating roll; a paint pot having a paint placed therein, designed to allow feeding the paint to the coating roll; a backup roll provided opposite to the coating roll; an operating mechanism designed to support a swing lever axially supporting the backup roll and allow bringing ofthe backup roll into contact with the coating roll with a given gap therebetween and departing of the backup roll from the coating roll; and paper feeding means disposed posterior to the backup roll and coating roll and designed to sequentially feed paper sheets into the space therebetween. In the apparatus, the coating roll on its surface is provided with multiple grooves formed with a slope against the circumferential direction of the coating roll, and there is provided a doctor disposed in the vicinity of the paint pot outlet side of the coating roll so as to be capable of scraping down the paint poured on the surface of the coating rollfrom the paint pot in such a manner that the paint remains in the grooves.</p> |
