PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of simply executing desired reading and printing processes by improving complicatedness of operation; and to provide an image forming device. SOLUTION: In the case where documents are fed by an ADF (automatic document feeder), when a both-side reversing mode (high image quality mode) is selected, a control part changes over a color mode to a full-color mode, turns off an ACS (automatic color selection function), and sets the image reading device not to accept operations of a monochrome key in an operation part and an automatic color key making the ACS work.
