PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal recording/reproducing device capable of efficiently recording a broadcast signal by reducing the quantity of data to be recorded by recording only a broadcast signal in running on a running path used as a recording object. SOLUTION: This signal recording/reproducing device includes a broadcast signal receiving part receiving a broadcast signal, and a signal recording/reproducing part recording/reproducing the broadcast signal received by the broadcast signal receiving part, and is installed in an observation vehicle. The signal recording/reproducing device further includes a position/orientation detection part detecting the position and the orientation in the traveling direction of the observation vehicle, and is structured to start to record a broadcast signal when the observation vehicle reaches a preset recording start position of the broadcast signal, and terminate the recording the broadcast signal when the observation vehicle reaches a preset recording termination position of the broadcast signal, based on the position and orientation detected by the position/orientation detection part.
