PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for storing additional information related to moving image data in conjunction with each moving image data section, and a method and a device for playing back a recording medium storing the moving image data and a file having additional information therefor by this method. SOLUTION: Detailed additional information related to moving image data recorded in a recording medium, for example, information for describing a scene or introducing characters, or the like are recorded additionally in a script file format, and information for linking each script file with sections of moving image data to be displayed with content thereof is recorded in other link file or a script file name. The script file corresponding to the moving image data being reproduced is searched based on information in the link file or the script name during reproduction, and content of the script file is displayed on a screen with the data simultaneously.
