PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce stored data size without deteriorating accuracy in distance measuring in image processing devices. SOLUTION: In the image processing device, which generates 3D image data by calculating distances to each portion of an object using two image data obtained by photographing the object from two view points, all pixels of the input image data are read after inputting them. Then pixels constituting image data A1, A2, which are one of two image data, are thinned using thinning rate defined according to the data size for storing the 3D image data, and distances associated with the pixels in the thinned image data are calculated.
