PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epidermal function improving agent effective for promoting hyaluronic acid production and involucrin production of human epidermal keratinized cell and improving moistness, texture, barrier function, etc., of the skin. SOLUTION: The epidermal function improving agent contains a substance having hyaluronic acid production promotion effect and involucrin production promoting effect on the epidermal keratinized cell, wherein the acting concentration of the substance to develop the hyaluronic acid production promoting effect is lower than the acting concentration to develop the involucrin production promoting effect.
