PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical unit suppressing maximally generation of aberration even with a simple constitution, and detecting highly accurately an incident angle of a beam. SOLUTION: This unit has: a light source 1; a light receiving element row 3; and a prism 2 for allowing outgoing light from the light source 1 to enter a sample arrangement part 2a<SB>1</SB>, and for guiding totally-reflected light from the sample arrangement part 2a<SB>1</SB>to the light receiving element row 3. The prism has a parabolically-shaped optical surface 2a having the sample arrangement part 2a<SB>1</SB>, and an emission surface 2b from which light entering the optical surface 2a from a focal point P on the parabolically-shaped optical surface 2a and totally reflected by the optical surface 2a is emitted vertically to the outside of the prism 2. Each light receiving element on the light receiving element row 3 is arranged so as to receive vertically the light emitted vertically from the emission surface 2b by the light receiving surface. The unit is configured so that the outgoing light from the light source 1 becomes divergent light diverging around the focal point P on the parabolically-shaped optical surface 2a.
