<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for efficient broadcasting in wireless packet data system. <P>SOLUTION: A single MAC_ID is used for broadcasting to a subscriber of one group. The base station determines an identifier of the subscriber with the worst channel condition (210) by using channel quality information of the subscriber of one group (200). The timing and the transmission format of multicast are adjusted (220) so that the subscriber with the worst channel condition can restore transmission. When the timing and the transmission format are selected in connection with the subscriber with the worst channel condition, the other subscriber can restore transmission as well. Hence, a single broadcast can be achieved by not sending a plurality of transmissions to a plurality of subscribers but needing the only single MAC_ID. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
