PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery capable of obtaining the nonaqueous electrolyte battery being excellent on discharge capacity and a charge and discharge cycle, a negative electrode for the nonaqueous electrolyte battery, and the nonaqueous electrolyte battery using them. SOLUTION: The negative electrode active material for the nonaqueous electrolyte battery has an alloy of a La2Ni3Sb4type crystal structure, or an alloy of a Cu2La1Sn2type crystal structure.
