PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, surely inhibiting inductive load from being abnormally heated by a hardware circuit without a CPU even if the inductive load is abnormally heated. SOLUTION: This apparatus includes: a power supply circuit for feeding the inductive load such as an electromagnetic clutch and a solenoid; a temperature detecting part for detecting the temperature of the inductive load; and a power supply control circuit for operating or stopping the power supply circuit based on the result of comparison between the detected temperature of the temperature detecting part and a reference temperature, wherein the temperature of the inductive load such as an electromagnetic clutch and a solenoid is detected without the CPU, whereby abnormal energizing state to the inductive load is detected and the power supply circuit for feeding the inductive load is operated or stopped, so that abnormal heating of the inductive load is surely inhibited only by the configuration of the hardware circuit to avoid the risk of smoke generation.
