PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the durability of a shock absorbing member for absorbing a shock generated when closing a movable cover covering mainly the lower side of the cutting blade of a metal cutter and closed by its own weight since its weight is large, by reducing the damage thereof due to the spattering of sparks and heated chips produced from the cut portion. SOLUTION: A leaf spring 60 for absorbing shock is installed near the rotation support part 56 of the movable cover 53 being hard to be affected by sparks. The leaf spring is brought into contact with an operation lever 15 for rotating the movable cover 53 in the opening direction by displacing according to the downward movement of the cutter body 10.
