PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity for using a cable with an unnecessarily high permissible current value and an unnecessarily large diameter for a cable used for current supply to a motor. SOLUTION: The machine tool repeatedly executing one cycle working motion against a workpiece in accordance with a predetermined working program is constituted of: an acquisition means acquiring a permissible current value; a computing means computing an average current equivalent value which is approximately equivalent to the average value of the current supplied to a motor generating power of the working motion over a period of natural number times of the one cycle; a comparison means comparing the permissible current value and the average current equivalent value; and an abnormality responding means executing an alarming process and/or a stopping process when the comparison means determines that the average current equivalent value is higher than the permissible current value.
