PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed drying device for paint film in a continuous painting line for metal plates, the device which carries out high-speed drying of a painting film of a metal plate surface, also carries out uniform drying of the paint film by minimizing a deviation (a difference between substance movement amounts following evaporation in positions in a metal plate width direction) of substance movement amounts in the metal plate width direction, and generally prevents drying marks of the paint film from being generated in the metal plate width direction. SOLUTION: The high-speed drying device for paint film in the continuous painting line for metal plates includes: wind boxes arranged in a drying chamber on both sides of the metal plates, and blowing hot gas by nozzles on the paint film of the metal plate surface to heat and dry the paint film; and a means for supplying the hot gas to the wind boxes. The device is characterized in that: a distance h between a tip of the nozzle of the wind box and the metal plate is ten times or less with respect to a diameter d of the nozzle; and a length L in metal plate pass line direction of the wind box is two thirds or less with respect to the maximum plate passing width W of the metal plates.
