PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swivel drive mechanism incorporating a power-signal transmitter of a small axial-dimension. SOLUTION: The swivel drive mechanism includes a base, a swivel frame on which an electric instrument is mounted, a bearing unit placed between the base and the swivel frame, a driving device which swivels the swivel frame around the swivel shaft relative to the base, and a non-contact power-signal transmission device for transmission of power and signals between the base and the swivel frame. In the swivel drive mechanism, a rolling bearing unit and a reducer of the driving device are disposed in such a manner as to surround the non-contact power-signal transmission device. Thus, the axial dimension of the swivel drive mechanism incorporating the power-signal transmitter can be diminished. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
