<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcium absorption promoter having high safety and superior calcium-absorbing effect, in view of the fact that ingredients which promote calcium absorption are conventionally vitamin D and milk sugar, and besides, for instance, peptide derived from bone, butyric acid, galacto-oligosaccharide, protein derived from cod or krill, water soluble chitosan, and soymilk protein polymer fraction, and to provide food and drink using the calcium absorption promoter. <P>SOLUTION: This calcium absorption promoter has methylated catechin as the active ingredient.
