<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge capable of obtaining a satisfactory image without replacing a functional member with a new one, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A charging roller 61 can be provided so as to be symmetrical, left and right, and can be inverted and fitted when the process cartridge is recycled. The metal core 61b of the charging roller is axially positioned such that one end face is pressed by a power supply member 68 and, on the opposite side, the end face of a large diameter (D1) part abuts on a bearing 67. The metal core end face (end face of a small diameter part D2) opposite to the power supply member 68 is not in contact with the bearing. When the cartridge is recycled, the metal core end face comes into contact with the power supply member 68.
