PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet head which can meet various kinds of functional liquids while suppressing a decrease in the function of a diaphragm. SOLUTION: A protecting layer 38 consisting of a thin film is formed to a resin film 30 which becomes the surface of an ink channel side of the diaphragm 20. Therefore, while a decrease in the function of the diaphragm, namely, pressure loss at a variable part 31 is suppressed, it becomes possible to meet jetting of the liquid likely to invade the resin film of the diaphragm. Particularly, both the suppression of a decrease in the function of the diaphragm and a protecting capability to the resin film can be achieved together by setting a thickness of the protecting layer to the range of 0.06%-0.65% to a thickness of an elastic layer.
