PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel which can prevent misoperations in a switching lever of a reverse rotation-preventing mechanism and can suitably prevent a line from becoming entangled in the switching lever. SOLUTION: This spinning reel has a reverse rotation-preventing mechanism 30, disposed in its reel body 1 for preventing reverse rotation of a rotator in a line-delivering direction, and a switching mechanism 40, disposed at the rear portion of the reel body 1 in a moved state and having a switch lever 50 for switching the reverse rotation-preventing mechanism 30 into a reverse rotation-preventing state or a forward or reverse rotatable state, disposing a dent 1a can receiving the switching lever 50 in the rear portion of the reel body 1, and placing the switching lever 50 in at least the dent 1a, while being of being moved in the reverse rotation-preventing state or the forward or reverse rotatable state.
