<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound source device capable of preventing a sound output response from being degraded at the time of real time performance while avoiding sound break when an arithmetic load of a CPU is increased. <P>SOLUTION: Since a musical sound waveform Out is generated based on a waveform output W which is read through a first waveform buffer 102 small in buffer size in a low speed arithmetic cycle within a fixed period from key-on time, the sound output response is prevented from being degraded at the time or real time performance. As the musical sound waveform Out is generated based on the waveform output W which is read through a second waveform buffer 104 whose buffer size is large in a high speed arithmetic cycle until key-off time after the fixed period, the sound break is avoided when the arithmetic load of the CPU 10 is increased.
