OPTICAL MEDIUM RECOGNITION SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical medium reducing the time required for an optical drive to recognize the optical medium inserted in an information processing system.

SOLUTION: The optical medium has a data layer operating so as to store data readable by a first laser and provided in the optical medium, and an embedded identification information storing region disposed on the optical medium and readable by both first and second lasers having wavelengths different from each other and embedded identification information is so constituted as to identify the optical medium associated with the first laser.
