PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train detection device capable of enhancing the operational density of trains without increasing the number of loop coils, and controlling the train with excellent accuracy by using the control logic of the experienced train control system of a fixed block type. SOLUTION: A logic control unit 8 of an on-vehicle device 2 integrates the traveling distance of a train 1 from a starting end of a loop coil 5b when the train 1 advances in the loop coil 5b; collates the integrated value with the position data of the starting end and the terminating end of the loop coil 5b stored in a data storage unit 7; successively generates logical block section occupation information indicating the timing that the leading position and the trailing position of the train 1 pass the starting end and the terminating end of the logical block sections B1-B5; and transmits train position information including the generated logical block section occupation information and train identification information to the ground. A ground device 6b detects the position of the train 1 by the transmitted train position information, and controls the train by expanding the conventionally experienced block logic without change.
