PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction body by which anyone, regardless of age or sex, can surely and easily change in colors thermally an image or handwriting of a thermal color changing ink using a frictional heat. SOLUTION: The friction body 1 includes a friction part 11 by which a thermal color changing image or handwriting formed on paper with a thermal color changing ink is rubbed and by which, by a frictional heat generated thereby, the thermal color changing image or handwriting can be thermally changed in colors. The friction part 11 is composed of synthetic resin having a convex surface. When the paper is rubbed for a frictional distance of 10 m with a frictional load of 100 g and at a frictional speed of 4 m/min, the ratio of the abrasion volume B of the friction body 11 over the contact area A of the friction body 11 on the paper (B/A) is set to be≤0.03(cm<SP>3</SP>/cm<SP>2</SP>).
