SPRAY DRYING PROCESS FOR PREPARING DRY POWDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exemplary apparatus for producing a dry powder composition. SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing dry powder includes: an atomizer for producing a spray composition with droplets which have a diameter of less than 50μm; at least one conditioning zone that is coupled to the atomizer and is adapted to receive the droplets, the conditioning zone being constituted so that the spray composition is suspended for a retention time within a range about 0.1-60 sec; a humid air inlet that is coupled to the conditioning so as to control the relative humidity within the conditioning zone; a drying zone that is coupled to the conditioning zone and is adapted to dry the composition exiting the conditioning zone; a heated gas inlet coupled to the drying zone; and a collector to collect the dried composition in powder form.
