The present invention provides a spatial light modulator, comprising: a pixel array comprising a plurality of pixel units. Each of the pixel units further comprises memory cell. A plurality of bit lines and a plurality of word lines for electrically communicating with the pixel units. A plurality of plate lines, wherein the plate line is connected to at least some of the memory cells connected to one of the word lines of the pixel array.
