<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hepatic fibrosis-suppressing agents, to provide a screening method of the agents, to provide a suppressing method of hepatic fibrosis, and to provide a treating or preventing method of hepatic fibrosis diseases, based on the suppressing method. <P>SOLUTION: The hepatic fibrosis-suppressing agents suitable for treating or preventing hepatic fibrosis diseases such as cirrhosis, are provided, which agents comprise as an active ingredient, chondroitinase ABC of a chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan-degrading enzyme, or a substance that inhibits the production or accumulation of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans including ADAMTS-4, and an expression suppressant of C4ST-1, C6ST-1 or C6ST-2 of a sulfotransferase for chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans, such as siRNA, and a screening method of the agent is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
