<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein the rate of symbol detection error or synchronization misdetection increases, when there are considerable errors between a symbol value and an ideal value, and that the tendency is conspicuous, when the threshold allowable range is narrow. <P>SOLUTION: A symbol determining apparatus 20 includes a frequency deviation controller 1 supplied from a baseband filter 34; a symbol determination unit 2 for determining symbol bit data; an error bit counter 4 for counting the number of error bits; an error bit comparator 6 for determining a value of the error bit counter 4; an FS word determining unit 7 for generating a signal that allows an FS word determination; a correlator 8 for comparison with a known FS word which is stored internally; a peak detector 9 for generating maximum output, when a correlation relation is established between both; a symbol timing generator 10, indicating that a symbol value should be detected, when the correlation peak signal is obtained, and a synchronization determination unit 11 for determining synchronization determination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
