<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounting method facilitating tracing of components when occurring a defect in a circuit board in production of the circuit board using a multiple patterning substrate. <P>SOLUTION: In the component mounting method for a component mounting machine mounting a component from a component cassette 114 onto the multiple patterning substrate 20 to form a plurality of the same circuit patterns on the multiple patterning substrate 20, a mounting point on the multiple patterning substrate 20 is related to the component cassette 114 supplying the component mounted on the mounting point (S203) and the order of mounting the components on the multiple patterning substrate 20 is determined with the mounting point related to the component cassette 114.
