<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform network setting by reliably and easily resetting an address, on a network, of equipment. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus 10 which is provided in the equipment 50 connected to a network 60, has an address on the network and performs settings of the network and the equipment, includes: a first information storage unit 12, a monitor unit 13, and a reset unit 14. A network connection unit 11 transmits/receives a communication signal over the network. The first information storage unit 12 stores first information indicating whether a test run of the equipment has been completed or not. The monitor unit 13 acquires the first information from the first information storage unit 12 and monitors a connection status of the network.
