PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting detection sensitivity, when an analyte contained in a channel is detected. SOLUTION: A detection method for optically detecting analytes comprises a process for forming a multilayer flow of fluids containing an analyte in one of layers; a process for introducing light to one of the layers of the multilayer flow; and a process for detecting the analyte by detecting signals emitted from the multilayer flow, according to the introduced light. The analyte here is a chemical substance, molecules, cells, particles, or their mixture.
