PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stud bolt with which stable welding can be performed without deteriorating the joint strength even for a base material such as a thin steel plate. SOLUTION: In the stud bolt in which a head part 1 is fixed to the base material S by arc welding, the head part 1 is formed to have a diameter larger than that of a shaft part 2. A ring-like projection 3 along an outer periphery of the heat part 1 and a projection 4 at the substantially center of the projection 3 are formed on the surface of the head part 1.
