PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for washing dishes and a storage device of the dishes, for surely and efficiently removing stains while keeping the plurality of dishes stored in the storage device compactly. SOLUTION: The peripheral end parts of the plurality of dishes 37 whose front surface side and back surface side are stacked in the horizontal direction are supported by a plurality of supports 22, 23, 33 and 34 along the stacking direction, the positions of the side of the surface 37a of the dish positioned at the head and of the side of the back surface 37b of the dish positioned at the end are regulated by position regulating members 16, 17, 27 and 28, and the dishes are stored in the storage device 14 such that they are moved along the stacking direction and the attitude is changed freely within a prescribed range. Washing water is successively jetted from nozzles to the peripheral end parts of the plurality of dishes stored in the storage device along the stacking direction. Two or more parts of the mutually adjacent dishes in contact with one another are separated by the washing water jetted from the nozzles 10a and 11a, and the plurality of dishes are washed successively by the flow of the washing water which flows into the separated interval.
