<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a membrane-electrode assembly with a membrane and a catalyst layer jointed well, and capable of reducing resistance of an interface between the membrane and the catalyst layer causing output deterioration in case of being made into a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a membrane-electrode assembly obtains a membrane-electrode assembly for a fuel cell by joining at least a catalyst layer on both sides of a hydrocarbon system polymer electrolyte membrane containing a cation exchange group. Before a process joining the catalyst layer, the method includes an ion replacement process to be a part or a whole counter ions of the cation exchange group of the hydrocarbon system polymer electrolyte as ammonium ions at least on a surface of the hydrocarbon system polymer electrolyte membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
