<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To infer a user's imaging intent and accordingly switch between a manual imaging mode and an automatic imaging mode. <P>SOLUTION: A user's manual imaging intent is judged from the action of the user. For example, it is judged to take an imaging apparatus in a state where a shutter can be pressed, longer than a certain time, or position variation of a main body normally performed in manual imaging and a subsequent static state are judged as a determination of the user's imaging intent.
