<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which can provide a liquid crystal display device attaining colorless neutral display in every azimuth and high contrast and which suppresses knick defects, a liquid crystal panel using the optical film, and the liquid crystal display device using the liquid crystal panel. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film comprises a transparent protective film, a polarizer and a birefringent layer formed of a cycloolefinic film wherein an Nz coefficient defined by Nz=(nx-nz)/(nx-ny) has a relationship of 1<Nz≤2, in this order, and the polarizer and the birefringent layer are directly laminated through a polyvinyl alcohol-based adhesive containing a metal compound colloid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
