<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack which is blocked to prevent the battery pack from being shorted and to reduce the idle power. <P>SOLUTION: The battery pack in one embodiment includes: a rechargeable battery; a protection circuit that protects the battery when the battery is charged and discharged; and a switching unit that turns on or off a power source of the protection circuit part.
