PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processed pigment which is fine and excellent in dispersibility and dispersion stability. SOLUTION: The processed pigment is obtained by mechanically kneading an organic pigment containing Pigment Red 254 in which the ratio (A296)/(A480) of absorbance at 296 nm (A296) to absorbance at 480 nm (A480) of 0.0025 mass% N-methylpyrrolidone solution is 0.80-1.50, a water-soluble inorganic salt, and a water-soluble organic solvent which does not substantially dissolve the water-soluble inorganic salt, and then removing the water-soluble inorganic salt and the water-soluble organic solvent.
