PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having high controlling efficacy against noxious arthropod. SOLUTION: The compound, anα,β-unsaturated imine compound, which has high pest-controlling efficacy, is represented by formula (I) [wherein, p, q and r are each an integer of 0-5; X<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>2</SP>and X<SP>3</SP>are each independently a (substituted) 1-6C chain hydrocarbon group, -OR<SP>1</SP>, -SR<SP>1</SP>, -N(R<SP>2</SP>)R<SP>1</SP>, -N(R<SP>2</SP>)C(=O)R<SP>3</SP>, -C(=O)OR<SP>1</SP>, -C(=O)N(R<SP>2</SP>)R<SP>3</SP>, (substituted) phenyl, nitro, cyano, or halogen atom, wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a (substituted) 1-5C chain hydrocarbon group, R<SP>2</SP>is a 1-5C chain hydrocarbon group or H, and R<SP>3</SP>is H or a 1-6C chain hydrocarbon group which is optionally substituted with group(s) selected from the group A].
