PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subscriber premises-side optical line terminating apparatus monitoring establishment of a communication condition with a center-side optical line terminating apparatus to stop a signal output to an external node when it is not established; and an optical transmission system equipped with it.

SOLUTION: In an ONU 100, a signal output control means 124 monitors establishment of a communication condition with an OLT 11, and an output stop request is output to loop back setting parts 136a and 136b to control a loop back condition when it is determined that the communication condition is not established. Thereby, signal output from an interface module 140 to a switch 70 can be stopped.
