<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which has large storage capacitance without impairing flatness of an insulating film. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a transmissive region TR and a reflective region RR in a pixel region in which a protective film IN2 is formed covering a thin film transistor on a substrate, wherein in the reflective region RR, an uneven surface is formed on the surface of the protective film IN2, and a capacitor electrode CTM which is electrically connected to the source electrode ST of the thin film transistor, a first capacitor insulating film CIN1, and a counter electrode CT(r) which also functions as a reflective plate RS are formed on the protective film IN2 with the uneven surface coming to the surface thereof, and in the transmissive region TR a counter electrode CT(t) composed of a transparent conductive film is formed on the protective film IN2 having no uneven surface formed thereon. A pixel electrode PX composed of a transparent conductive film and electrically connected to the source electrode ST of the thin film transistor is formed on a second capacitor insulating film CIN2 formed so as to cover the reflective region RR and the transmissive region TR. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
