PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric smoke sensor hardly causing misdetection. SOLUTION: This photoelectric smoke sensor has: a housing 21 having a plurality of wall parts 23 making smoke from the outside flow in the housing 21 and shielding direct light from the outside; a light emission part 25 irradiating light into the housing 21; and a light reception part 26 receiving scattered light of the light by the smoke flowing into the housing 21. In a state of installing the housing 21 on a wall, the wall part 23a positioned at least in a downmost part among the wall parts 23 is formed with a pocket part 23b capturing dust penetrating into the housing 21 such that the pocket part 23b is open upward, and the light reception part 26 is provided such that the light reception part 26 is positioned above the pocket part 23b.
