APPARATUS FOR COOLING STEEL STRIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the fluttering of a steel strip due to a refrigerant gas sprayed from a slit nozzle in an apparatus for cooling the steel strip with the use of the slit nozzle which extends in a width direction of the steel strip. SOLUTION: The apparatus for cooling the steel strip by spraying the refrigerant gas onto the running steel strip S comprises: the slit nozzle 3 that extends in the width direction of the steel strip and is arranged so as to project to the steel strip S side from the surface of a cooling box 2 into which the refrigerant gas is introduced; and a port 4 for passing the refrigerant gas therethrough, which is arranged between the tip of the slit nozzle 3 and the surface of the cooling box 2 and continues in a running direction of the steel strip S.
