PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position regulating mechanism for a filler guide which has no risk of interfering with the peripheral apparatus of a TIG welding robot, and to provide a method for regulating the position regulating mechanism which can simply and swiftly perform the regulation of the tip position of a filler guide installed in the position regulating mechanism for a filler guide when the filler guide is exchanged or the positional regulation of the filler guide is required. SOLUTION: When a new filler guide 40 is installed to a position regulating mechanism 20, a robot is drivingly controlled by a controller 50 based on a standard point creation program memorized in a memory 52. Then, the positional regulation for the new filler guide 40 is performed by the position regulating mechanism 20 in such a manner that the difference between the position of the tip of the new filler guide 40 moved based on the standard point creation program and a reference point is solved.
