METHOD FOR PRODUCING CULTURED CARTILAGE AND CULTURED CARTILAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cultured cartilage with which a cell source can be obtained less-invasively and a larger amount of cartilages can be produced than with a method using a bone marrow-originating mesenchymal stem cell.

SOLUTION: This method for producing the cultured cartilage has a step S1 in which a cord blood-originating mesenchymal stem cell is seeded in a porous scaffold, and a step S2 in which the seeded cord blood-originating mesenchymal stem cell in the porous scaffold is cultured. During the step S2 in which the cord blood-originating mesenchymal stem cell is cultured, stress is applied to the scaffold and the cord blood-originating mesenchymal stem cell to form a cultured cartilage.
