<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cap and a bottle with a cap superior in retort-resistant and cap opening characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: This cap includes a metal cap shell 4 comprising a top panel 2 and a tubular peripheral wall 3 hanging down from the peripheral edge of the panel part 2 and a cap liner 5 provided on the inside face of the panel part 2. The inside of the shell 4 is bake-coated with a coating composition having epoxy phenol resin to which at least maleic acid denaturation polyethylene or oxidation polyethylene is added as a solid content.
