<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric steering lock device that can reduce the generation of striking sound during an operation. <P>SOLUTION: The electric steering lock device comprises: a lock bolt 4; a rotating member 5 for holding the lock bolt 4 therein so as to move it forward and backward in the direction of a rotating shaft, cam grooves 51 and 52 provided in one side of the lock bolt 4 and the rotating member 5 and inclined to the circumference direction; a cam follower 67 provided in the other side; a cam mechanism that moves the cam follower 67 in the cam grooves 51 and 52 by the rotation of the rotating member 5 to move the lock bolt 4 in the direction of the rotating shaft of the rotating member 5; a case body 1 having a lock bolt insert hole 22 through which the lock bolt 4 passes to an outer part; and a case cover 2 for closing an opening of the case body 1.
