<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical composite article such as a fan casing. <P>SOLUTION: This article having a fan casing preform 42 equipped with a terminal flange 54 wound therearound and a curved contour 62, includes a substantially cylindrical body 52 provided with a plurality of circumferential layers 40, where each layer has at least one ply of a material 36, and the material 36 comprises a weave fabric, a non-crimped fabric or a combination thereof. These fabrics show fibrous unevenness smaller than a triaxial braid, thereby the surface is more smooth so as to bring about large dissipation of energy when received an impact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
