PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent tilting in an insertion posture of a male terminal fitting of a connector. SOLUTION: The male terminal fitting 30 already inserted is prevented from being pulled off by locking of a lance 17 and an anti-pull-off part 57. A guide part 58 provided at a retainer 50 is arranged to be located at an opposite side of the lance 17 with the male terminal fitting 30 in between and further rearward than the lance 17 with the retainer 50 in a preliminarily locked state to make the male terminal fitting 30 in a process of insertion in sliding contact. Even if pressing force acted from the lance 17 elastically bent on a tab 32 in the process of insertion of the male terminal fitting 30, the male terminal fitting 30 is kept in contact with the guide part 58 at the opposite side of the lance 17, so that there is no fear of a posture of the male terminal fitting 30 being left tilted.
