PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical surface acoustic wave element for odor sensors, which detects a gas molecule, namely an odor source, with high sensitivity, and copes with many kinds of gas response characteristics, and also to provide an odor sensing system. SOLUTION: The spherical surface acoustic wave element for odor sensors has: a spherical base material which has a propagation surface for propagating surface acoustic waves by turning; an electrode that is formed on the propagation surface of the spherical base material and excites the surface acoustic waves onto the propagation surface of the spherical base material; and a sensitive film that is formed on the propagation surface of the spherical base material and adsorbs the gas molecule that becomes the source of odor.
