摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery having high discharge capacity, high initial charge discharge efficiency, and making quick charge possible even if a negative electrode is manufactured by using, especially, an aqueous binder; and to provide its manufacturing method; a negative electrode for the lithium ion secondary battery using the negative electrode material; and a lithium ion secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of graphite particles as a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery is such that mechanochemical treatment is applied to the graphite particles to make the surfaces of the graphite particles hydrophilic.
