<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery having high discharge capacity, high initial charge discharge efficiency, no solvent dependency, and making quick charge possible even if a negative electrode is manufactured by using, especially, an aqueous binder; and to provide a negative electrode material for it; a negative electrode; and graphite particles. <P>SOLUTION: The graphite particles are mesophase small globular graphitized substances, in which a spacing d<SB>002</SB>in the direction of c axis as determined by X-ray diffraction is less than 0.337 nm, and after mechanochemical treatment, in Raman spectrum using argon laser beams with a wavelength of 514.5 nm, when intensity of peak in 1570-1630 cm<SP>-1</SP>regions is represented by I<SB>G</SB>and that of peak in 1350-1370 cm<SP>-1</SP>regions is represented by I<SB>D</SB>, I<SB>D</SB>/I<SB>G</SB>is in a range of 0.4-2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
